3 cups rolled oats
1 cup slivered almonds
1 cup cashews
3/4 cup shredded sweet coconut
1/4 cup plus 2 T dark brown sugar
1/4 cup plus 2 T maple syrup
1/4 cup canola oil (I don't use oil and I haven't, yet, tried the recipe without oil. Will let you know on that.) ** Remember, oil is nothing but FAT and that will go straight from your lips to your hips! Instead of oil, try moistening with about 1/8 cup organic apple juice.
3/4 tsp salt
1 cup raisins


Preheat oven to 250.


In a large bowl, combine the oats, nuts, coconut, and brown sugar.
In a separate bowl, combine the maple syrup, oil or juice, and salt. Combine both mixtures and pour onto 2 sheet pans. Cook for 1 hours and 15 minutes, stirring every 15 minutes to achieve an even color.
Remove from oven and transfer to a large bowl. Add the raisins and mix until evenly distributed.
