This cake takes exactly 10 minutes to put together, and it's tasty and healthy!

  • 1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 3 T unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 2/3 cup maple syrup
  • 6 T unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 T white vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup cold water

Preheat oven to 350.

Prepare a 9 x 9 baking pan.

In mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder and baking soda. Make a well in middle and add the maple syrup, applesauce, white vinegar, vanilla extract, and cold water. Mix well.

Pour into prepared pan and bake for 30 minutes. Test with toothpick for doneness.
